Are you interested in the role of Europe in our ever changing world? Do you want to be intellectually challenged and analyze issues that European governments and societies deal with? Then Liberal Arts and Sciences is your course! Our small-scale education is distinguished by a strong international focus, interesting discussions and innovative teaching methods.
Liberal Arts and Sciences offers you a unique opportunity to attain a specialized qualification in one of four Majors, combined with a broad and interdisciplinary education in the liberal arts. You will learn to combine different scientific disciplines to understand complex global issues and look for creative solutions. Ultimately you will become a critical thinker who develops a broad view of social, political, social and economic events in the world. Thanks to its multi-disciplinary character, the program will give you the opportunity to follow courses on a wide variety of subjects and, guided by your Academic Advisor, to put together your own degree program.
Your liberal background will open many doors – in international business, government, non-profit or academia. Liberal Arts and Sciences is a broad study, allowing graduates end up in a wide range of professions: a social psychologist, an economist, a researcher or a legal advisor to name a few examples. Employers worldwide will appreciate the fact that you are both a generalist and a specialist that knows how to take an interdisciplinary approach to issues.
The program does not take place in a residential University College setting, but you are still part of a very active student community and you have access to a much large university environment with international students from 93 different countries.
The program is offered in a small-scale setting, meaning you receive a lot of personal guidance by our academic advisor and professors give personal feedback on your course work. Moreover, you’ll take part in lectures taught in small classes, specifically as off your second year, you will flourish in group discussions with only 20-25 students.
Last but not least, we want you to contribute to Social Innovation already during your studies. That is why we launched a new course. In ‘the Social Innovation project’ you will learn the foundations of social entrepreneurship and develop skills essential for your future career
