There are a few groups and pages on Facebook that are guaranteed to make your time as a student go without a hitch.
Of course there is the official “Extra Muros” Page, which will keep you and other interested parties (like your parents😉) updated on official news.
“Extra Muros” also has a facebook group. This group is only for members and is a bit more informal. You can use it to reach other EM members and to keep updated of Extra Muros Events!
There is the general “Tilburg University – Liberal Arts and Sciences” Facebook group, which is somewhere in between the EM page and group in seriousness: you can use it to reach all LAS students, but it is monitored by a member of staff in the LAS department. Prospective students are also very welcome to visit this page!
Yearly Study Aid Groups
Beyond these more general groups, every year has their own study group Facebook group, where most communication happens (especially during exam time!). These groups are primarily study related, however, as the academic year progresses they usually become more and more social. The one you’ll be using will be called Study Aid LAS ‘(following the year you started studying, such as’14)! However, you might also want to join Study Aids Facebooks of other years because they might be beneficial, for example: buying/selling your books or summaries! People are only allowed to join if they are Liberal Arts students and they need to be approved by the admin!

Then lastly there are three groups which are very resourceful:
I*ESN Marketspace , which is literally a cheap, digital market space for the students of Tilburg, and it’s all in English. This marketspace is meant for I*ESN members but non-members are very welcome as well!
Fashion For Sale Tilburg, which is the same idea but then for clothes- all good quality, nothing worn to scraps (the clothing is mostly aimed at females, but I challenge you to change that!).
Woonruimte aangeboden/gezocht Tilburg (=Housing offered / wanted Tilburg). The best group for finding/renting rooms and houses in Tilburg. The name might sound intimidating, but some of the posts are in English and with over 25,000 members there is bound to be something for you!
Join this group if:
1. You want to place an offer for a room (in a student house), apartment or house in Tilburg.
2. You want to find a place to stay in Tilburg.
BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! Never pay in advance – if you get asked to do this it is very suspicious. Make sure you have seen the room before you sign any contracts. More tips
