Hi, I am Dom and this year I will be the president of Extra Muros. I`m coming from Croatia and currently, I am a third-year LAS student at UCT. My passions are focused on social sciences in which I am majoring, and entrepreneurship which I will pursue through the upcoming year. My previous experience as the head of the study trip committee, through 9 awesome days and 3 countries thought me that getting involved and using the full potential of the student life is a precious thing. As a person with a broad range of interests and the enthusiasm, I think that being a president of a study association with such a great close-knit community is a perfect combination and the challenge which I am more than happy to let myself into.
Aside from all the classic “Making Extra Muros great again” stories, I will really direct my effort into making this year an interesting, instructive, fun and memorable experience with my dear board members, heads of committees and all of you! My goal is to make sure that everyone finds something matching their taste, and I will always be welcoming all potential ideas and suggestions of things you would like to turn into reality! Hopefully, see you all around!😊
Hi, I’m Stella and I am the PR-manager of Extra Muros. I am a third year Liberal Arts & Sciences student, Social Sciences is the major that I have chosen to follow. As someone who is extremely interested in studying the social aspects of society, I have chosen the most sociable position that the board had to offer. As PR-manager, my task is to take care of the external relations of our association, and lay contacts with other study associations in order to broaden Extra Muros’ network. I have chosen to cover this position because I love the idea of getting to know new people, especially when there is an opportunity to work together and come up with new ideas for projects and events. See you around on campus, and hopefully at our events 🙂
I am Maaike and this year I will be Extra Muros’ Secretary! I really wanted to join the board because I think the LAS community is very nice and I am super excited to organize events and involve more students! In my first year I got to know a lot of nice people, and joining the Last Lecture committee was a really nice experience! I hope that this year the Extra Muros community will continue to grow and we will enjoy many activities and have a great year together. See you around!
I have always been passionate about multiculturalism, internationalization and cooperation of people within countries and organizations. As I come from a bicultural household (Slovak and Dutch) and lived in 4 different countries, I feel I can understand people from various backgrounds. I love being an active part of the university life in our Liberal Arts program because I believe with Extra Muros we can bring people together, have a lot of fun and do great things together! (And the more diverse we are the better! 🙂
I’m Rebecca Quazi, half German and half Indian, currently studying the Law Major at UC Tilburg. I have taken up this role as I wanted to challenge myself and do better within the liberal arts community. The people open-minded and I feel at home here. Through this position, I open my horizons in creating new relationships professionally and hope to see myself grow in the respect of leadership and instilling leadership within others. Best, Rebecca 😊
